Hello, I’m Katlin.
Yes, yes, my name looks funny doesn’t it?
It’s pronounced Kate-lynn. There’s a letter or two missing in there…. Someone forgot it while spelling it out for the birth certificate. Haha!
I’m a coffee drinking, hot yoga loving, creative wifey to a very supportive husband, as well as a momma of one amazing girl and the sweetest baby boy.
I took my first snip in 2006, during my senior year of high school. Since then, I have worked as an assistant and salon manager. Back in April of 2016, one of my best friends and I decided to go rent a salon suite, to just, you know, “see what happens”. Which led to four and a half years full of trial and error, tears (of course), and a whole lot of laughter. We were faced with a lot of hard decisions at the end of 2020. That year, forced us all into other directions and unexpected changes. Ultimately, we both wanted to be closer to home. So there-in came the end of our venture together and the beginnings of Wild Comb.
I chose the name, Wild Comb, for many reasons. One being, that I love the wild, natural beauty of our desert, and, after all, it was created in the midst of the chaos that was 2020. The other reason being that hair-cutting and styling have been my medium for as long as I can remember. The comb has brought so much magic into my life, in many ways, but most importantly it has brought me peace and stability throughout my brightest and darkest days. I have made so many friendships, met the most wonderful people (husband included 🙂 ), and have been able to create the life and freedom I always wanted for myself and my family. As you can see, The Comb needed to be honored. It is a place to come together, decompress, and leave feeling restored and anew!
